Artist's Statement

I have a lot of ideas, but I don’t always know how to express them. My brain is always going at full speed. This causes me to struggle with explaining what I’m thinking, so as someone who has trouble finding the right words, visual art has become an integral part of the way I speak to the world.
I create art to work through the noise in my head. That can make it difficult to pin down what exactly my style is, because it’s so inherently me; it’s constantly shifting and evolving. However, although my work appears to be very eclectic, there is a common thread throughout my entire body of work: the idea of storytelling. I draw and paint stories of myself, stories of the world, stories of things only I can say. My work helps me to be understood by people from all walks of life, even if they’ve never even seen me walking down the street. Even though I may struggle to find the right words, I can say what I mean in a few strokes, and that, I feel, is what art is meant to be.
